East Oakland Tech Fair

To celebrate Digital Inclusion Week, Get Connected Oakland is hosting the East Oakland Tech Fair at the 81st Avenue Branch Oakland Public Library. Come learn, connect and explore new tech resources for you and your family. Free phones for OUSD high school students, low-cost internet and free refurbished computers!

The East Oakland Tech Fair is a free event and no registration is required. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Interact with local organizations and explore technology learning tools. Community partners will be engaging with approximately 150 community members to share resources and services they provide.

  • Sign up for low-cost internet. Community members can learn about and sign up for $10/month Internet options.

  • Participate in digital skills training sessions. A series of sessions will cover topics such as online ethics, social media, data privacy/security, and information literacy,

  • Receive a free refurbished desktop computer.  Households receiving HUD housing assistance, CalFresh, SSI, or free/reduced lunch will receive a free refurbished desktop computer.

  • Receive a free mobile device with data plan and hotspot functionality (OUSD high school students only). Students will receive the equipment and connectivity they need to complete their schoolwork from home as part of the Sprint 1Million Project. Parents must be present for student to receive a device.

There will be refreshments and fun activities throughout the day. We hope to see you there!
