Diane Williamson Presents Documentary Film “Finding Our Place: The Oakland Black Veteran Experience"

In honor of Black History Month the African American Museum & Library at Oakland welcomes Post-Vietnam era veteran Diane Williamson as she presents the documentary Finding Our Place: The Oakland Black Veteran Experience.

This 20-minute film essay focuses on DeFremery House and segregation of the USO during World War II utilizing local historical photographs and an interview with Bay Area civil rights leader Frances Albrier (1898 – 1987).
