Oakland Youth Poet Laureate Finalist Promotional Video Shoot

Oakland Youth Poet Laureates 2018 and logo

Every year Oakland awards a talented youth poet (ages 13-18) the city’s top literary honor, The Oakland Youth Poet Laureate.

This year’s Finalists will be participating in a new promotional video and photo shoot at the African American Museum & Library at Oakland that will be open to the public.

This is a rare opportunity to drop in and see these talented young poets “behind the scenes” as they perform their work for the film crew. Come out to be inspired by this year’s talented group of Finalists and Oakland’s most innovative young writers.

The Oakland Youth Poet Laureate earns an educational scholarship and embarks on a year of opportunities as an ambassador for literacy, arts and youth expression.

Drop in anytime between 1:30 and 4:00, but please note that exact timing of the promotional video and photo shoot will be flexible.
