Free Tax Assistance
In partnership with the AARP Tax-Aide program, the Oakland Public Library will be offering free tax assistance to patrons from Friday, February 1st through Monday, April 15, 2013. Trained volunteers will be available to help residents fill out their tax forms at five library locations.
Tax Help at César E. Chávez Branch
Tax assistance will be available at César Chávez Branch on Thursdays from 10am to 3:30pm and Fridays from noon to 3:30pm. Bilingual Spanish/English assistance will be available on Thursdays and Fridays.
Please make an appointment in advance by calling the branch at (510) 535-5620. Some walk-ins may be accepted if appointments are not full. Walk-in tax assistance is also available at the Main Library and at Eastmont Branch.
What to Bring
Participants need to bring copies of last year’s federal and state tax returns and all materials pertaining to their 2012 tax forms for themselves and their spouse (if filing jointly).
