On Monday, May 27th, the library will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday. All branch locations will be closed on Tuesday, May 28th. The Main Library will be open on Tuesday, May 28th.
Free Tax Assistance
In partnership with the AARP Tax-Aide program, the Oakland Public Library will be offering free tax assistance to patrons from Friday, February 1st through Monday, April 15, 2013. Trained volunteers will be available to help residents fill out their tax forms at five library locations.
Tax Help at the Dimond Branch
Assistance will be available at Dimond Branch on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 4:30pm and Thursdays from 10:30am to 2:30pm.
Please make an appointment in advance by calling the branch at (510) 482-7844. If you are looking for walk-in tax help, assistance is available at the Main Library and at Eastmont Branch.
What to Bring
Participants need to bring copies of last year’s federal and state tax returns and all materials pertaining to their 2012 tax forms for themselves and their spouse (if filing jointly).
