The Science of Space

The Lawrence Hall of Science and GSK Science in the Summer are teaming up to offer a free science program about space! Through active, hands-on learning, students explore the sun’s energy, the phases of the moon, human survival in space, and how rockets overcome Earth’s gravity. From here on Earth, we look up and see the sun and moon. From here, we dream of space travel. From here, we achieve liftoff.

Parents and guardians of students entering second through sixth grades in the 2018-2019 school year may register by calling 510-597-5023 to experience the Science of Space through fun, hands-on activities that teach the basic concepts behind spectroscopy, micrometeroids, rocketry and more. This program will take place on two Wednesdays; attendance at both is suggested but not required.
