Back to Oakland Author talk with Penn Hughes

Picture of Author

The Bay Area is a thriving global presence. San Francisco is one of the most storied cities on the planet. Silicon Valley is a “place” which has shapeshifted the 21st century. Back to Oakland is set around Lake Merritt. It addresses whether the buzz of Oakland- and other communities like it- might be the setting for other shapeshifting as well, from a different angle of repose.

Penn Hughes has lived in Oakland since 1974. He has over 20 years’ experience as a clinician and was co-manager of the Berkeley Ecology Center. While at Pacific Bell he also sheparded in the company’s first Affirmative Action Program.
