East Bay Home Front during World War II

Image advertising Home Front during World War II at Oakland Public Library

World War II changed the economy, physical landscape, culture and political climate of the East Bay region. Oakland History Room librarian Dorothy Lazard and rangers from the Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park in Richmond will present a forum to recall this major evolutionary shift. Discover how WWII is commemorated at local museums, historic parks, libraries, ships and waterfront sites.

While at the Main Library, check out the “East Bay Home Front” exhibit on the second floor. The exhibit will run through the end of October.
