Three Tides: Writing at the Edge of Being

Image of Cecile Pineda

Author of many works, both fiction and nonfiction, written over a period of 40 years, Cecile Pineda describes the process involved in writing, and uses the theme of  displacement that permeates our collective experiences - personal, cultural, and  environmental.  From the devastation of Katrina to the burial of a rice-growing village by a toxic land fill, she documents the upheavals that inspire her writing and result in collective losses she has documented in her work.
