The Water is Wide: Songs of the Oceans and Rivers

Tim Holt will perform and discuss our heritage of sea chanteys, whaling songs, traditional songs, and Woody Guthrie's Columbia River songs. He will also include a song with his own original lyrics set to the Pete Seeger song, "Sailing Down My Mountain Stream."  Tim's version focuses on a more recent effort to restore wild salmon to the upper reaches of the Sacramento River.

In the good old hootenanny tradition, Tim will encourage everyone to sing along on these classic American folksongs.
