Heartbreak: a history, with Meghan Laslocky
Meghan Laslocky, free-lance journalist and editor-producer at KQED public broadcasting in San Francisco, brings her Little Book of Heartbreak to her neighborhood library in a reading and discussion.
The book, newly published by Plume, was described by O: The Oprah Magazine as "a hilarious salve for the lovesick." Laslocky, a Temescal district resident, will discuss her charming social and cultural history of the painful and all-too-familar form of suffering that comes when love disappoints us.
The event is part of an on-going series of Saturday afternoon salons at the Temescal Branch Library that feature local residents who are contributing in some way to the cultural enrichment of the community.
