Renee Swindle introducing her new novel: A Pinch of Ooh La La
Join Oakland author Renee Swindle who will read from her new novel A Pinch of Ooh La La, set in the Temescal District & published by the New American Library. Ms. Swindle will host a Saturday-afternoon salon as part of an on-going series at the Temescal Branch Library that brings contributors the city's cultural fabric together with members of the public. She will be available to sign books, answer questions and lead discussions of this book and her earlier work.
Renee Swindle's first novel, Please Please Please, was an Essence Magazine/Blackboard bestseller and also published in Germany and Japan. Shake Down The Stars was published August 2013 and called a "true gem" by "RT Book Reviews". Her latest novel, A Pinch Of Ooh La La, was published August 2014. "Shelf Awareness" described Renee Swindle as “the master of setting a scene” and calls A Pinch Of Ooh La La a mouthwatering confection of love and family set in a backdrop of cupcakes and jazz.
Swindle earned her MFA in creative writing from San Diego State University and was named a San Francisco Library Laureate in 2001. She lives in Oakland.
