Meet Author Rita Williams-Garcia

In a rare Oakland appearance, Rita Williams-Garcia will read from One Crazy Summer, her moving novel about three sisters set in West Oakland in the summer of 1968. One Crazy Summer was named the 2011 Coretta Scott Award Winner, a 2011 Newbery Honor Book, the 2011 Scott O'Dell Prize Winner for Historical Fiction, and a 2010 National Book Award Finalist.
