When: Saturday, June 16, 12-3pm
Where: Oakland Main Library, Brad Walters Community Room, 125 14th Street, Oakland
What: The 2nd Annual Culture Fest celebrates the abundance of Oakland cultures and attracts people to the library. The event coincides with the start of Oakland's summer reading program. The Culture Fest is a family-friendly, all-ages event. Last year's event brought over 160 people, and this year's event is expected to attract even larger crowds.
Who: A diverse group of Oakland residents and library visitors will attend. This event is especially focusing on getting new library users and youth to come to the library. The event is conducted by the Youth Leadership Council (YLC) of the Oakland Public Library, a teen advisory board.
Who: This Culture Fest is staged to celebrate the proliferation of different cultures in Oakland, to encourage new people to enjoy the Oakland Public Library's resources, and to provide an enjoyable experience to families and individuals of all ages.
