Public computers, copy machines, and printing services are down at all branches. WiFi may be working. The Main Library has no power and will remain closed until further notice. Returned items may still show up on your account until systems are back online; we will work with you to resolve any account issues. Please check back for updates.
Online Fine Payment
You can now pay some of your fines online!
Fines and fees are payable at any Oakland Public Library location by cash or check. If you would like to pay your fines by check without coming to the library, please include your library account information (card # and name on account) and send your check to:
OPL - Main Library Circulation
125 14th Street
Oakland, CA 94612
The Library also offers users the ability to pay their library fines through their account online if their account is not expired and they know their card number and PIN. During the fine payment process, the user is directed to a PayPal's payment page and enters his/her information into PayPal's online payment form. Data entered on PayPal's payment page is encrypted by PayPal and is not retained by the Library. To pay fines online, log into your library account and select "Pay Fines."
Before you pay online, please note:
- DO NOT pay fines on interlibrary loan or Link+ items online. Please call (510) 238-2124 regarding charges on interlibrary loan of Link+ items.
- Fines paid online are not refundable. You should examine your fines carefully and be sure you agree with the charges before making a payment online.
- Payments made online have to be greater than $1.00 and are immediately credited to your Library account.
Check out the Online Fine Payment FAQs page if you have more questions in paying online.
