Services for Educators

Oakland Public Library is here to support the educational, informational, and recreational needs of all.

The library provides a number of online subscription databases that are free to use. More details are available here.

We also offer a wide range of ebooks and eaudiobooks; details are here.

The Main Library is the system’s research hub, with large collections of more than 350,000 reference and circulating non-fiction and fiction books, hundreds of current and historic magazines and newspapers, a major collection of sheet music, and thousands of maps. We can provide group tours on request at the Main Library.  To arrange this, please contact Mana Tominaga, Supervising Librarian at Main, at 238-6611.

To arrange a visit to a branch library, please contact the branch directly.  You can find a list of branch locations here.

Bring the Public Library to You

We can also conduct book talks, demonstrate our various ebook offerings, and conduct online database training for your groups and classes. Invite us to special events and staff meetings to learn about library services. To discuss an onsite visit, please contact Mana Tominaga, Supervising Librarian at Main, at 238-6611.
