Urban Arts Workshops & Exhibits

Join us at Oakland Public Libraries starting in November 2013!

As part of Oakland Public Library’s annual collaboration with the Life is Living Festival, Teen Services announces an exciting new partnership with the Estria Foundation to exhibit youth-created murals and offer urban arts programs at four locations.

The Estria Foundation, host of the Estria Battle, supports artists to create large-scale public art for social change. Now in its sixth year, the Estria Battle is the nation’s largest urban arts competition. This year’s contest includes a Youth Mural Arts Battle, with the theme “Dream of Justice.”

From November 2013-2014 experience the Youth Mural Arts Battle at Oakland Public Libraries, and keep the DREAM going.

Canvases from the Youth Mural Arts Battle on display at four Oakland Public Library locations starting in November 2013. Learn more here.
