Spring Book Sale at the Bookmark Bookstore, presented by the Friends of the Oakland Public Library
The Friends of the Oakland Public Library announces its Spring 2020 book sale event at The Bookmark Bookstore. All proceeds from the sale of gently-used donated books will benefit the Oakland Public Library.
The semi-annual sale event opens with a special “Members’ First Choice” sale day on Thursday, April 16. Members of the Friends of the Oakland Public Library save 50% on all purchases. Membership may be purchased on the day of the sale for $25 per year, $15 for seniors and full-time students.
All book lovers receive a discount of 30% on Friday, April 17. The discount increases each day with savings of 40% on April 18 and 50% on April 19. The discount applies to already low prices of $3 to $6 for most of the 17,000 books in the store. The Bookmark features books of general interest, DVDs, CDs, records, songbooks and comics.
The Bookmark Bookstore is located at 721 Washington Street in Old Oakland, convenient to public transportation, including the free Broadway shuttle, AC Transit and BART (12th Street station). The Friends of the Oakland Public Library (FOPL) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to supporting the Oakland Public Library.
