Meet Tamim Ansary, author of West of Kabul, East of New York, as he discusses his new literary memoir, Road Trips: Becoming an American in the Vapor Trail of the Sixties.

Here he describes several road trips he took in the late 1960s-early '70s as a recent transplant to the U.S. from Afghanistan.

Ansary is also the author of Destiny Disrupted: A History of the World Through Islamic Eyes, The Widow's Husband, and Games Without Rules.
