Virtual Lawyers in the Library - Tax Attorney

tax paperwork spread on table

Make an appointment to talk with a tax attorney.

The Lawyers in the Library program is a free information and referral program staffed by volunteer lawyers and hosted by libraries throughout Alameda County. Patrons make appointments to speak to lawyers one-on-one. If legal help is required, people are referred to other agencies.

The program is co-sponsored by the Alameda County Bar Association, Legal Access Alameda.

While our physical locations are closed, the tax attorney will be available on the fourth Friday of the month for 15-minute phone appointments. Because of the holiday, this month's program will take place on December 18, the third Friday of the month. To request an appointment, email eanswers@oaklandlibrary.org or call 510-238-3134. Library staff will get back to you within three days.

NOTE: The attorney is NOT a tax preparer. The attorney can provide consultation regarding problems with tax collectors--IRS, FTB, Sales tax , property tax, cannabis tax, business tax--and other city, county, state and federal tax problems.
