Join Us for a Virtual Concert with Cascada de Flores!

Cascada de Flores

We celebrate this week with a wonderful performance of El Abuelo (The Tree & The Donkey Who Loved to Sing) a story by Cascada de Flores made especially for the Oakland Public Library.

Arwen & Jorge who form the duet Cascada de Flores, will  take us on a journey through Mexico and  through time. You can help them tell their original talte about how they imagine song, ancient musical instruments, and sweet characters of Mexican music and dance came to be. Grab a a bandana (or scarf, sock or something to twirl while dancing!) your family members, and music makers! If you have any questions for Arwen & Jorge after you watch, dance, sing and learn about the instruments, please email at info@cascadadeflores.com.

On July 18th join us on our Facebook page or on our Youtube page for some singing, dancing, and joy! Also check our Children's Services Blog for other exciting activities.

Don't forget to sign up for OPL Kids' Summer Reading! Kids who participate weekly by reading or by completing activities during the Summer can choose a free prize book and are eligible to win other prizes.
