Join author Steve Early for a discussion of his new book. Refinery Town: Big Oil, Big Money and the Remaking of an American City tells the story of how 15 years of civic activism in Richmond, California improved public safety, raised Richmond's minimum wage, challenged home foreclosures and evictions and demanded fair taxation of Big Oil and Big Soda. 

Steve Early has been a journalist, lawyer, and labor organizer for the past forty years. His writing has appeared in The NationNew York Times, Boston Globe, and many other publications.
