Meet (and hear) J. D. Moyer, master of sci-fi & electronic jams

J. D. Moyer at the Temescal Branch Library

Join Oakland’s J. D. Moyer as he introduces The Guardian, the second book in his Reclaimed Earth series from the Fiction Without Borders program of Flame Tree Press (New York & London).

Besides his prolific output of science fiction, Moyer is a producer of electronic dance music (as one half of Jondi & Spesh and as Momu), proprietor of Loöq Records and a blogger. Monographs include The Sky Woman (the first installment in the Reclaimed Earth series) and The Icelandic Cure, a novelette that won the Omnidawn Fabulist Fiction Contest in 2016. His short stories have appeared in Into the Ruins, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Compelling Science Fiction, Intergalactic Medicine Show, Strange Horizons and Cosmic Roots & Eldritch Shores. His list of favorite authors includes William Gibson, Iain Banks, David Mitchell, Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman, Octavia Butler, et al.

The initials "J. D." stand for "John David."

He appears as part of the on-going series of salon-style presentations by contributors to the cultural fabric of the greater Temescal District.
