Did you know that 66% of library volunteers are teens? We love that!
Volunteering at Oakland Public Library is a great way to learn about the work environment, contribute to a good cause, or complete community service requirements.
Volunteer opportunities are open to any students who wish to gain familiarity with the library profession or gain experience with public service. All Teen Volunteers must be between the ages of 14 and 18.
We also offer one-time volunteer or community service opportunities for court appointed teens. Many branches offer volunteer opportunities for teens.
Fill out our new online form for teen volunteers: oaklandlibrary.org/teenvolunteers or ask any staff member at your local branch for a teen volunteer application.
We also maintain a list of other great volunteer opportunities around the Bay Area. Check it out.
