I am just a single star,
a flicker in the vastness of the night sky.
Small yet burning with a quiet glow,
a single spark lost in endless midnight.
But your eyes ― they hold the absolute of the universe.
The galaxy, the land of constellations,
a map of the cosmos leading right back to you.
You are my moon, my guiding light through the dark.
You are my sun, the warmth that wakes me.
I am the rise to the dew,
the promise of dawn’s soft embrace,
and the set to the stars.
Falling back into the quiet of the night,
your light is my only horizon.

I began writing poetry very young and this poem was one of the first pieces I created over a decade ago. It captures what it feels like to love and be loved, to understand and be understood, to know what it feels like to be whole.
