Welcome to jubilant June at the Oakland Public Library! We're celebrating #PrideMonth, #Juneteenth, and the beautiful, warm weather! We host HUNDREDS of FREE events every single month, so here are some highlights:
#OPLSummer / #SummerReading is in full swing! Bring the family out to fun, community events like:

For Pride, we've got some exciting Drag King/Queen Storytimes planned for children and their families as well as Transverse - a safe space for trans/gender non-conforming teens to spend time together. 
For Juneteenth, the African American Museum and Library at Oakland has a community event with a book giveaway on June 15th.
And don't miss out on the Oakland Youth Poet Laureate showcase on June 7th! We'll be announcing the new 2024 Oakland Youth Poet Laureate and Vice Oakland Youth Poet Laureate at OakStop on Broadway.
