Welcome to a magical March at the Oakland Public Library! We're celebrating Women's History Month by honoring the iconic women who've made history including Oakland-based Olympic gold medalist Alysia Liu! We'll also take time to remember the work of César Chávez with a specially curated booklist and a movie screening at the Chávez branch.
Other exciting highlights this month include:
Pokemon Trading Card Club
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Pokemon, a game that has shaped culture and changed lives. If you're someone who waits in lines for the newest releases, you'll enjoy connecting with other Pokemon fans and card collectors at this special club just for teens.
Free Pet Adoptions
We've partnered with Oakland Animal Services to get your pet adoption fees waived if you show your Oakland Public Library card. We hear rescues make perfect reading buddies!
Motherboard: Digital Literacy

Egg Decorating
Join us in the Elmhurst branch garden as we dye and decorate eggs for the spring solstice. Eggs generously donated by our chickens Sol and Luna, who will be on hand to judge their favorites!
