Happy Black History/Black Futures Month! OPL has many new books by Black authors highlighting Black History, Black Futures and Black Joy for you to explore. There are books covering a range of topics from the history of Juneteenth, to celebrating Black love, and queer Black ballroom culture. You'll find The Abolitionist's Handbook in which Patrisse Khan-Cullors outlines ways that activists can fight effectively for an abolitionist present and future. You'll find "Recitatif", the only short story Toni Morrison ever wrote, published as a stand-alone for the first time. You'll also find history, historical fiction, science fiction and memoir in this list which is just a taste of a larger selection. We invite you to explore our catalog and/or make your own lists of your favorite authors to share.
