Hispanic Heritage Month
Our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration is growing! With way more programs and a slight re-branding to more user friendly language, this year has got a fresher, funner feel than previous years. Take a look at our newly re-designed Hispanic Heritage Month page!
We're offering everything from Aztec dance performances and printmaking workshops to Lucha Libre expos and our annual Dia De Los Metros Altar, there's something for everyone here. Find more events here.
We're also excited to offer numerous booklists covering topics like Hispanic Heritage in the Bay Area, books to read for your Spanish book club, and cookbooks on various cuisine of Latin America and Hispanic heritage.
Health & Wellness
September is also World Alzheimer's Month, a campaign by Alzheimer's Disease International to raise awareness about the neurological disease that affects so many families. Learn more about Alzheimer's and Dementia through these informative books.
We also offer a myriad of other health and wellness programs that get you moving your body outside in the fresh air or learning how to be proactive about your health. If that sounds like how you'd like to spend your time, you'll want to check out this group bike ride and helmet giveaway with bike East Bay at the César E. Chávez Branch or this cook healthy recipes demo at West Oakland Branch.
