East Bay Parks Trails Challenge – Want a fun way to explore the East Bay and earn cool prizes? Join the 2025 Trails Challenge! Hike or bike any of the 5 to 20 suggested trails, earn pins and gear, and track your progress online. It’s a great way to get outside, stay active, and discover new spots.

Youth Environmental Academy – If you’re passionate about the planet and want to make a real impact, check out the Youth Environmental Academy at the Ecology Center. It’s a paid program where you’ll learn hands-on skills in climate action, ecology, and sustainable food. Plus, you get to work with experts, build your resume, and help your community—all while doing something meaningful.  

Oakland Library Outdoors – Get outside with OPL! Check out a California State Library Parks Pass that lets you visit any California state park for free or borrow a hiking backpack that includes gear for your outdoor adventures, including binoculars, nature guides, a compass, and local parks map.
