July 2025

Welcome to joyous July at the Oakland Public Library! We offer *hundreds* of FREE events every month that are open to the public. Here's just a quick snapshot.

Art at the Library

We're launching three new art exhibits.

From June 20 - September 31, 2025, the African American Museum and Library at Oakland is showcasing the work of Donald O. Greene in an expansive exhibit titled Vibrantly Expressive Masks: Fantasy Images by Donald O. Greene.

You can find a smaller, companion display titled The Artwork of Donald O. Greene at the Main Library (first floor) during the same dates.

And if you walk just a bit further to the Lakeshore side of Lake Merritt, you'll find the African American Quilt Guild of Oakland displaying artwork at the Lakeview Branch. Lakeview's exhibit will be viewable from June 14 - August 8, 2025.
