Welcome to fresh and floral March at the Oakland Public Library! We’re springing into warm weather activities like gardening, biking, and evening strolls around Lake Merritt in hopes to bring out that beautiful California sun we all know and love.

Community Youth Mural

every Friday through May
1:00 - 3:00 pm

Get in touch with your creative side! 7th-9th graders have the chance to plan and paint a new community mural while earning community service hours. And don't worry, we'll have free food4

The Bike Fix

Fridays 3:00 - 5:00pm at 81st Avenue branch &
first and third Saturdays at Martin Luther King Jr. branch

Can't figure out what's wrong with your bike or how to fix it? We're here to help! Bring your bike in for tools and help fixing flat tires and other minor repairs.

Seed Starting Workshop

March 25, 2023
2:00 - 3:00 pm

If seed starting feels more complicated than social media makes it seem, then this workshop is for you! Learn how to successfully start your seeds with a special guest from local nursery and greenhouse, Pollinate Farm & Garden Supply. Stay until the end to receive a planted seed ready to add to your home garden!

Walk the Lake

Tuesdays, March 21, April 4, & April 18
5:30 - 6:30pm

Come out to Lakeview branch library for an afternoon stroll around the lake! Socialize with new people while enjoying the afternoon sun or take advantage of golden hour with some selfies in front of the simmering water.
