Among the various stores and restaurants in the Fruitvale Plaza, ARISE High School, Latino men and boys, and the San Antonio/Fruitvale Senior share a common space. These organizations are neighbors who, on a silent level, interact daily. It is this opportunity of noticing the other and collaboration that sparked the project. The project is meant to imagine possible futures and identities as well as question the effects of the relational aesthetic amongst the people of the Fruitvale district. In short can we relate to others? How can connection to each other strengthen our communities?
