Welcome to awesome April at the Oakland Public Library! This month we're celebrating Arab American Heritage Month, National Poetry Month, National Library Week, and día de los niños/día de los libros.
There's always new ways to learn and have fun at the library!
Tatreez Embroidery Workshops
Join us for an intimate Tatreez embroidery workshop with Palestinian artist and educator, Amanne Sharif. Amanne bridges ancestral storytelling with contemporary design, guiding participants stitch by meaningful stitch. Learn this traditional art form not just as a craft, but as an act of connection to Palestine’s land, people, and culture. Through this hands-on session, you'll weave together history, technique, and personal expression while honoring the deep roots of Palestinian embroidery.
Seats are going fast! Registration required!
