Publish Your Own E-Books for Free

If you’ve ever written a memoir, a novel, a collection of poems, short stories, or anything else that could be considered a book, you may have wondered how you can share it with your community.

With Biblioboard, local authors can share their work electronically with their communities through their library. Biblioboard allows you to create your work, share it, and discover works by local, independent authors. You can also win awards and honors, such as inclusion in the Independent Author Project's Select Collection or a self-publishing award from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association.

Create:

With BiblioBoard’s PressBooks, you can write, format, and save your eBook. It allows you to easily create and add copyright information and even has a cover generator. You can add sections such as an Introduction, Chapters, and an Appendix. There are many themes to choose from to make formatting simple and attractive. After you've created your book, you can self-publish it and sell on Amazon, Kobo, or other online booksellers. You can also share it through the library.

Share:

Once your ebook is complete, you can submit it to be shared through libraries across California with the Independent Author Project (IAP). IAP is a partnership between Biblioboard, Library Journal, and Public Libraries across the country. In order to be accepted, your work must meet IAP’s standards for eligibility. You can submit your ebook even if you did not use PressBooks to create it.

It will also be reviewed for selection into the IAP Select Collection. These titles are the cream of the crop and are made available across the country.  If selected, you can opt into a royalty-paying program and your title will be available for libraries to purchase on other platforms such as Overdrive.

You can submit your work directly through PressBooks, or submitting it here
