Did you know you can get free museum passes with your library card? The Discover & Go program provides free and low-cost passes for museums, science centers, zoos, theaters, and other cultural attractions. This program is available through many local libraries including OPL.
As you might guess, passes go fast, especially for popular attractions, so it's helpful to mark you calendar.
Passes go fast, especially for popular attractions! We recommend setting a calendar reminder for the first of the month so you can be sure to snag your passes. On the first of the month, new passes open up for reservation for two months in advance, so you will always see three months of available passes. For example, on July 1, passes for the month of September will be available, along with any spots left in July and August.
Different attractions have different limits for how many passes you can reserve. Think before you click! Once you click the “Print/Download” button, you can’t cancel your reservation and this will count towards your pass limit.
Keep in mind that while anyone living in California can get a library card for OPL, you must be at least 14 and live in Oakland, Piedmont, or Emeryville to use Discover & Go.
