Hi, I'm Megan, and I work as the Community Relations Librarian at OPL. My department is behind the scenes of the website, social media, and all of our digital and print communications.
What's your library superpower?
Helping people get set up with eAudiobooks, opens a new window and eBooks on their device of choice - I get excited all over again about how many reading options you can have in your pocket!
Your go-to book recommendation?
I keep a copy of "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" by Judith Viorst on hand. It's a great one to read at any age when you have a hard day.
Favorite part of the job?
I'm happiest when I'm connecting with people, being involved in lots of different projects, and problem-solving - all of which I get to do a lot working in the Library.
Got a library project you're particularly proud of?
I loved creating the "What's Your Desert Island Book?" collection of book recommendations and starting our first-ever "Patron Best of" list. And job-adjacent, I love getting to volunteer as a storytime reader at Children's Fairyland, opens a new window, a true Oakland institution.
