Día (El día de los niños, El día de los libros / Children's Day, Book Day) is coming up on April 30th! At the Main Library and at the 81st Avenue branch library, we'll be celebrating with local performing artist and longtime friend of OPL Asheba. Children's Room staff chose to celebrate April with a new display. In honor of National Poetry Month and Week of the Young Child, our 3-D treehouse joins books of poems, books about families and friends, and books about little children enjoying books. You can check out any of the display books and share your own poem about being a kid.

Here are some suggestions just for kids!
Don't overlook these gorgeous picturebooks just because they're shelved in Nonfiction. You can read them aloud at bedtime or in a classroom.
Silly, stinky, or sweet-and-sour: these poems will get you laughing. Some have audio versions (streaming or CD) so you can listen along.
Celebrate National Poetry Month with these unique, engaging, and powerful books in verse
