Steps:

  1. Sign up for a free account using this link (you will receive an invitation email to complete the process)
    Note: Must be a California resident and have an email address
  2. Set up your password
  3. Confirm your email address (check your email!)
  4. Agree to terms
  5. Start exploring courses and careers. Coursera tracks your progress and even has options to earn certificates you can add to your resume and qualifications.
