City of Oakland Summer Food Program

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) delivers free breakfast and lunch during summer break to kids and teens 18 and under.

Snacks and Lunch

Sometimes, you can get a snack or lunch from the library. Ask your librarian!

OPL is able to offer lunch and after-school snacks through grants and programs funded by the City of Oakland.

Summer Lunch

Free Summer Lunch will be available for children and teens (ages 18 and under) at select library locations  from Tuesday, May 31 – Friday, July 29 (no lunch on July 4 holiday). 

Branch Summer Lunch Hours

81st Ave: Monday-Friday, 12:00 to 1:00pm
Chavez: Monday-Friday, 12:00 to 1:00pm
Eastmont: Monday-Friday, 12:00 to 1:00pm
Elmhurst: Monday-Friday, 12:00 to 1:00pm
Main: Monday-Friday, 12:30 to 1:30pm
Martin Luther King: Monday-Friday, 12:00 to 1:00pm
Melrose: Monday-Friday, 12:00 to 1:00pm
